Ocean Cruise Planning Tips

Book early for best pricing
Ocean cruises often reward early planners with better rates, like early bird specials and cabin choices. Holiday cruises and unique itineraries often fill up quickly.

Choose the right season
Alaska is best from May to September, the Caribbean shines in winter, and the Mediterranean is magical in late spring or early fall when there are less tourists.

Pack Smart
Include a light jacket, cardigan/light sweater, comfortable walking shoes, travel adapter and at least one formal or smart-casual outfit for evenings.
Cruise FAQs
What’s best for first-time cruisers?
We recommend 3–7 night ocean cruises with familiar destinations and a balance of sea days and port stops. Alaska is a favorite for first time cruisers.
Is solo cruising possible?
Absolutely. Many cruise lines offer single staterooms and solo-friendly programs. We’ll find the right fit for your vibe.
When should I book?
Ideally 6–12 months in advance for choice and value. Luxury and river cruises especially fill quickly.
What’s included in my fare?
Most cruises include your stateroom, meals, entertainment, and more. We’ll explain what’s covered based on your cruise line.
Do I need a Passport?
If you are a US Citizen taking a cruise that departs and returns to the same U.S. port (e.g., to the Bahamas), a government-issued photo ID, such as a REAL ID, may suffice. We’ll guide you based on your itinerary. For international cruises that visit foreign ports, which includes Mexico, Canada & Caribbean, a valid passport is required. Consider obtaining a passport even for domestic cruises, as it provides flexibility for unexpected travel changes.
